The " Server Replication " service Ensures business continuity by orchestrating the replication of local virtual and physical machines to Azure or to a secondary site. If your primary site is inaccessible, you switch to the secondary location so that users can continue to work, and then perform an automatic restore when the system becomes functional again.
The " Server Replication " service ensures high availability of servers and applications. It helps implement your business continuity and disaster recovery strategy by coordinating the replication, failover, and recovery of local Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines, as well as Windows or Linux physical servers. .
In the " Server Replication " service, there are three basic replication scenarios:
Virtual machine replication Hyper-V
If Hyper-V virtual machines are managed in VMM clouds, you can replicate them to a secondary datacenter or to Azure Storage. Replication to Azure is via a secure Internet connection. Replication to a secondary datacenter is via the LAN. If Hyper-V virtual machines are not managed by VMM, you can only replicate them to Azure storage.

Replicating VMware Virtual Machines
You can replicate VMware virtual machines to a secondary datacenter running VMware or to Azure Storage. Replication to Azure can be done through Azure ExpressRoute or a site-to-site virtual private network, or over a secure Internet connection.

Replication of Windows and Linux physical servers
You can replicate physical servers to a secondary datacenter or to Azure Storage. Replication to Azure can be done through Azure ExpressRoute or a site-to-site virtual private network, or over a secure Internet connection.
